Don’t forget that shiny pearl in the middle! Stick with me, and you’ll have a stunning shellfish on your page in no time. Let’s grab those pencils and get to it!
Draw the Top Shell
Start by drawing a wavy line to outline the top half of the oyster shell.
Add the Bottom Shell
Below the top shell, draw another wavy oval shape, to form the bottom shell of the oyster.
Outline the Top Shell's Lip
Following the shape of the top shell, draw a wavy line to outline the shell's lip.
Form the Bottom Shell’s Lip
Similar to the previous step, draw a wavy line below the bottom oyster shell.
Draw the Outer Part of the Bottom Shell
Draw a bumpy curved line to form the outer part of the bottom shell.
Add the Ribs
Add the ribbed lining along the outer shell by drawing curved lines.
Outline the Pearl
Draw the circular outline of the pearl inside the oyster shell. Make sure to erase overlapping lines.
Add the Shell's Inner Texture
Draw curved lines along the inside of the oyster shell to add some texture.
Draw Seaweed
Now, add some upright wavy shapes to draw some seaweed around the oyster shell.
Create the Ocean Floor
Outline the ocean floor by creating bumpy horizontal lines. Then, add the sandy texture by drawing dots.
Add Rocks
Add small oval-shaped rocks to emphasize the rough texture of the ocean floor.
Color the Pearl
Use white and a light shade of gray to color the pearl.
Fill in the Inner Shell
Fill in the inner part of the oyster shell with yellow. Next, add hints of light blue near the base of the top shell. Then, use darker shades of yellow to create some shadows near the pearl.
Shade the Outer Shell
Use a light orange crayon to color the lip of the top and bottom shell. Then, use a more vibrant shade of orange to fill in the outer shell.
Color the Ocean Background
Shade the sand with light brown, and the rocks with light gray. Next, color the seaweed with green. Then, fill in the water with blue.
