Cute Whale Drawing

Let's create a cute whale drawing! Today, we're gonna draw an adorable whale that'll make you smile. Trust me, it's simpler than you think!

Lesson: Cute Whale Drawing
Grab that paper and pencil. We're gonna break this cute whale drawing down into 15 steps. Think big, round shapes and smooth lines. By the end, you'll have an adorable sea creature swimming on your page. Stay focused, follow each step as best as you can, and don't worry about perfection. Let's make this adorable little whale come to life!
Outline the Head

Start by drawing a large, curved line to form the top part of the cute whale’s head.
Form the Mouth

Form the shape of its smiling mouth. Then, draw a curved line to outline its tongue.
Add the Eye

Draw a large, expressive eye. Next, add small circles to outline the shimmer in its eye.
Draw the Body

Outline the base of the whale’s body and form the tapering shape of its tail.
Add Eyelashes

Add long eyelashes by drawing short curving lines.
Draw the Pectoral Fin

Draw a curved outline of the whale’s pectoral fin.
Form the Underbelly

Outline the underbelly near the base of the whale’s body. Then, add the grooves along the underbelly.
Attach the Tail Flukes

Attach two tail flukes to the end of its body.
Draw the Dorsal Fin

Draw a tiny dorsal fin on top of its body.
Form the Blowhole

Outline the blowhole on top of the whale’s head by creating two curved lines. Make sure to erase overlapping lines.
Add the Water

Outline the spraying water coming out of the blowhole.
Color the Eye and Mouth

First, fill in the eye with black. Next, use white to add the shimmer to its eye. Then, use shades of red to color the inside of its mouth.
Shade in the Underbelly

Shade the underbelly using light yellow.
Add Shading to the Whale’s Body

Use a blue color to shade the rest of the whale’s body. Next, add a hint of red blush on the whale’s cheek.
Fill in the Water

Fill in the water with a very light shade of blue.
