Lesson: How to Draw a Sandcastle

Draw the Base of the Sandcastle
Start by drawing a wavy horizontal line near the bottom of your paper to form the base of the sandcastle.
Form a Sandcastle Tower
Above the baseline, draw two vertical lines to outline a sandcastle tower.
Outline the Crenellations
Outline the crenellations at the top of the sandcastle tower.
Draw Another Tower
Similar to the previous step, draw vertical lines to form the shape of the tower. Then, form the crenellations on top.
Add More Towers
Add more sandcastle towers of different heights. Then, form their crenellations on top.
Form the Tall Tower
Draw two vertical lines to form the walls of the tallest tower of the sandcastle. Next, add the triangular-shaped roof.
Attach a Flag
Attach a small flag on top of the roof of the tallest tower.
Outline the Doorway and Windows
Draw an arched shape to outline the doorway and windows of the sandcastle.
Draw the Shoreline
Draw the shoreline behind the sandcastle by creating two wavy horizontal lines.
Add Texture to the Beach
Add the sandy texture of the beach by drawing dots.
Outline the Horizon
Draw a straight horizontal line to form the horizon. Feel free to use a ruler to guide you!
Draw the Waves
Draw the water waves by creating short wavy lines.
Add a Shovel
Add a shovel on the right side of the sand castle as shown.
Outline the Clouds
Outline the fluffy clouds in the sky.
Shade the Sandcastle
Color the sandy beach and sandcastle with shades of yellow. Next, fill in the doorway and windows of the sandcastle with dark brown. Then, shade the flag on top of the tower with red.
Fill in the Shovel
Fill in the shovel with green.
Color the Water
Color the water with shades of blue.
Add Shading to the Sky
Shade the sky with light blue, and the clouds with white.
