Lesson: Beach Sunset Drawing (easy)
Today we're drawing a cute beach scene with a sunset. Let's keep it simple and fun. Grab your colors and let's begin.
Draw a Palm Tree Trunk
Start by adding a palm tree to our beach sunset drawing! On the right side of the beach, draw two slightly curved vertical lines to form the trunk of a palm tree. Next, draw the base of the tree by creating a short wavy line.
Add the Stem
Let’s start adding the leaves of the palm tree. First, draw a curving line to outline the stem.
Form the Frond of the Palm Leaf
Form the pointy outline of the palm leaf frond around the stem.
Attach the Rest of the Stems
Create more curving lines extending to different directions to draw the rest of the stems.
Outline the Fronds of the Palm Leaves
Draw pointy elongated shapes around each stem similar to the previous step.
Add the Shore
Draw a line near the bottom of the paper to outline the shore.
Draw the Horizon Line
Using a ruler, create a straight horizontal line across the middle of your paper to form the horizon.
Outline the Sun
Draw a semi-circle above the horizon line to outline the setting sun. You can use a circular guide to help you!
Add the Sun’s Reflection
Form a wavy curved line below the sun to show its reflection on the water.
Outline the Ocean
Below the horizon line, add short, wavy lines to draw the ocean waves.
Draw Seagulls
Draw small, V-shaped outlines to represent flying seagulls in the distance.
Shade the Sun
Shade the sun and its reflection with white and yellow.
Color the Sky
Use warm colors like orange and yellow to color the sky.
Fill in the Ocean
Use darker shades of orange to color the ocean, adding lighter shades of orange near the sun's reflection.
Shade the Seagulls and Foreground
Color the seagulls and the foreground with dark brown. Add hints of light brown near the edges of the foreground to create the silhouette effect.
