How to Draw Flip Flops

Let's start by sketching the soles of some laid-back footwear, yep one of my favorite shoe styles...Flip Flops!

Lesson: How to Draw Flip Flops
In this lesson we're drawing flip flops at the beach. We'll keep it simple with 12 easy steps to follow. Grab your drawing tools and let's get started, no sweat!
Outline the Left Sole
Start by drawing an elongated oval shape tilted slightly to outline the flip flop's sole.
Form the Right Sole
Next to the left sole, draw another elongated shape, this time a mirror image to form the flip flop's right sole. Notice the symmetry between the two flip flop shapes?
Draw the Straps
Outline the curving shape of the flip flop’s straps.
Attach the Toe Posts
Draw the short, rod-like toe posts.
Form the Sides of the Flip Flops
Draw lines following the shape of the soles.
Add Pattern to the Soles
Add evenly spaced straight lines to form the striped pattern of the flip flop.
Draw the Sand
Form the sandy texture of the sandy beach by creating dots.
Outline the Starfish
Draw the outline of the starfish.
Shade the Straps
Add shading to the straps using a red color.
Color the Soles
Color the soles with orange and white.
Fill in the Starfish
Fill in the starfish with a vibrant pink color.
Color the Sand
Color the sand with light brown color.
