Lesson: How to Draw a Submarine
Today, we'll draw a submarine against a vibrant beach and sea backdrop. In 15 chill steps, we'll ace the sleek outline of the sub cruising underwater in the cool ocean. I'll guide ya through penciling in those essential details that bring your underwater vessel to life on paper. No need to stress, sis! Outline the Submarine Body
Start by drawing a long, horizontal oval to outline the main body of the submarine.
Attach the Flood Tank
Attach the flood tank at the back of the submarine.
Add the Fins
Form the fins of the submarine attached to the flood tank. Make sure to erase overlapping lines.
Form the Propellers
Draw a small rectangular propeller shaft. Then, attach the two elongated propellers.
Outline the Plating
Outline the plating on the submarine’s body by drawing curved vertical lines.
Add the Front Viewport
At the front of the submarine, draw two curved lines to add the front viewport.
Draw the Side Viewports
Along the side of the submarine, create three small circular viewports.
Outline the Conning Tower
On top of the submarine body, draw a small rectangle to form the conning tower.
Attach the Antenna
Attach a thin, vertical antenna on top of the conning tower.
Draw the Periscope
Form the shape of the periscope connected to the tower as shown.
Add Bubbles
Draw small circles around the submarine to outline the bubbles.
Shade the Submarine
Add shading to the submarine’s body, conning tower and periscope with yellow and orange.
Color the Viewports
Color the framing of the viewports with dark orange. Then, fill in the glass with light shades of blue.
Add Color to the Antenna and Propellers
Use light gray to shade the antenna and propellers.
Fill in the Ocean
Fill in the bubbles with light blue. Then, color the ocean with a darker shade of blue.
