Beach Drawing
Let's explore how to create a beach drawing. I'll be sure to include a palm tree, sandy shoreline, water and an adorable beach umbrella too! Yep, we'll throw in some sea shells for good measure as well.
With just a pencil, some shading tools, and perhaps a black marker, you'll create a beach scene that looks pretty sweet. Actually a ruler and something round and traceable will be handy too. Remember, it's all about having fun and expressing your creativity without any pressure.
Shall we begin this artistic journey together?

Lesson: Beach Drawing
Now we'll begin our beach drawing. With careful attention to details like sand textures, wave shapes, and seashell patterns, we'll work our way through 30 steps in total to bring the beauty of the beach and sea to life on paper. You can do this!
Outline a Palm Tree Stem
Start by drawing a stem of a palm tree by creating a curved line.
Draw the Palm Leaf Frond
Form the pointy outline of the palm leaf frond around its stem.
Add More Stems
Attach the rest of the palm tree’s stems by drawing curved lines.
Form the Rest of the Leaf Fronds
Outline the leaf fronds around each stem similar to the previous step.
Add the Palm Tree Trunk
Draw two slightly curving vertical lines to form the trunk of a palm tree.
Outline the Base of the Palm Tree
Outline the base of the palm tree by drawing a short wavy line.
Form the Texture of the Palm Tree Trunk
Draw curving horizontal lines along the trunk of the palm tree to add some texture.
Outline the Beach Ball
Form the circular outline of the beach ball next to the tree.
Draw the Base of the Beach Ball
Outline the bottom part of the beach ball touching the ground by creating a short wavy line. Don’t forget to erase overlapping lines.
Add the Valve
Add a tiny circle on the beach ball to outline the valve.
Form the Pattern of the Beach Ball
Draw curved lines to form the pattern on the surface of the beach ball.
Add a Beach Umbrella
Let’s add a beach umbrella to our drawing by first creating the top part of the canopy.
Draw the Ribs of the Umbrella’s Canopy
Draw two curved lines extending from the top to form the ribs of the umbrella’s canopy.
Form the Edges of the Canopy
Close off the shape of the umbrella’s canopy by drawing a bumpy line.
Attach the Shaft of the Umbrella
Attach the long, rod-like shaft of the beach umbrella. Then, draw a short horizontal line at the bottom to stick it to the ground.
Outline the Beach Mat
Form the rectangular outline of the beach mat.
Add the Pattern of the Beach Mat
Add diagonal lines to form the pattern of the beach mat.
Form the Shoreline
Draw two wavy horizontal lines to form the shoreline of the beach.
Draw the Horizon Line
Create a straight horizontal line to outline the horizon.
Add the Waves
Now, draw short wavy lines to draw the waves of the sea.
Form Shells and Starfish
Add some tiny shells and starfish scattered along the shoreline.
Add Texture to the Beach
Next, draw dots along the beach to emphasize its sandy texture.
Outline the Clouds
Draw a bumpy line to outline the fluffy clouds in the sky.
Color the Beach Ball
Color the beach ball with white, red, yellow and blue.
Shade the Beach Umbrella
Shade the canopy with white and yellow. Then, color the umbrella’s shaft with dark gray.
Fill in the Beach Mat
Use shades of orange to color the beach mat.
Color the Palm Tree
Color the leaves of the palm tree with green, and its trunk with brown.
Shade the Beach
Shade the sand with a light brown crayon. Next, fill in the shells with shades of yellow. Then, color the starfish orange.
Fill in the Sea
Use white and light blue to color the shoreline. Then, color the rest of the water with vibrant blue.
Color the Sky
Use light blue to fill in the sky. Now, use white for the clouds.
